My Yoga Philosophy In the fast paced world we live in, it often seems that if we could just be a little better, perhaps a little nicer, or maybe a bit different than the way we are now, life would begin to work for us instead of against us. The fact that we are perfect exactly the way we are seems to us too ridiculous to even begin to contemplate. There is always room for change in our life, a time for shedding the old and taking on the new…my belief is that these changes take place, not out of a sense of "not being good enough," but because our True nature is Creative. We are...in a quite natural way...growing, creating, expanding and advancing towards full recognition of our true and devine nature...which is, and alway will be perfect. "Yoga" means union or merger. The ultimate aim of this philosophy is to strike a balance between mind and body, attain self-enlightenment, and thus acknowledging that true Perfection has to do with neither. To achieve this, hatha yoga uses movement, breath, posture, relaxation and meditation in order to establish a healthy, lively and balanced approach to life The continued and regular practice of HathaYoga establishes harmony between mind and body. |
My Yoga Style floYoga® A style of yoga which combines the ancient art of Hatha yoga with modern strengthening and integration movements of modern dance, Joseph Pilates and Moshe Feldenkreis. floYoga® is a series of gentle, transitional movements that enable the student to reach deeper into traditional Yoga Asanas with a minimal risk of injury floYoga® fuses breath, motion and awareness into a process that strengthens and tones the body both internally and externally: Fitness from the inside out. floYoga® affects change in the physical and dynamic bodies by energetic manipulation of muscle or bone connected to past traumas, injuries and emotional patterns. The floYoga® technique can break down and transform subconsious or consious patterns of limitation by using a quantum energy healing technique combined with the ancient healing effects of yogasana

My first encounter with yoga was at the age of 15. I have dedicated these past 5 decades to learning more and more about the function of the physical body and its relationship to finding lasting peace. During this time I studied under many different teachers and examined and experienced many different styles of hatha yoga. Through my ongoing dedication and continued personal practice, I feel I am now better able to differentiate between that which might serve as a momentary fascination for our restless minds and bodies, (and thus have no real benefits to us in the long run), and that which truly supports and strengthens us on our ongoing search for inner peace and physical well being.

The body can bring you neither peace nor turmoil; not pain nor joy. It is a means, and NOT an end. It has NO purpose of itself, but only the purpose you give it. The body will seem to BE whatever is the means for reaching the goal that you ASSIGN to it. Ask not release from the body. But free it from the merciless and unrelenting orders you laid upon it, and forgive it what you ordered it to do. |
